Live Music Crawl

Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World. We'll take you to the venues that earned it that title.

What You Get

🎸

Live Bands Every Night

Austin has more live music per capita than anywhere in the country. We pick venues with real bands playing that night, not background playlists.

🍺

Cheap Beer, No Cover

Most of the venues on this crawl have no cover charge. Some sell beer by the pitcher for around $18. Five cans worth for the price of two pints.

🎵

Dirty 6th and Beyond

We hit the most famous strip in Austin nightlife and a few spots just off it. Blues, jazz, rock, country, whatever's on that night.

The Venues

We check who's playing that week and pick 2-3 of the best. These are the kinds of places we go:

Dirty 6th Street Bars

Multiple bands playing every night of the week. No cover. These places book tons of acts and the lineups change constantly. One minute walk between them. This is the heart of Austin nightlife.

The Basement Jazz Bar

A below-ground jazz club. Bands start around 6:30pm. Get there early and skip the cover entirely. One of the most respected music rooms in Austin. Five minutes further down the street from the main strip.

Top-Tier Venue

When a big act is in town, we go. One block from most downtown hotels. Schedule dependent, but when they have a show, it's the highlight of the crawl.

The Roadhouse

Beer by the pitcher. Residency bands most nights. Cobbler for dessert. A laid-back spot to start or end the night, especially if you're coming from a food truck dinner nearby.

A Typical Evening

7:00 PM

Meet up. Optional food truck dinner beforehand if you want the full experience.

7:30 PM

First venue. Grab a beer, settle in, catch the band.

8:30 PM

Walk to the next spot. Different vibe, different sound. Maybe jazz, maybe blues.

9:30 PM

Final bar on Dirty 6th. The strip is alive by now.

10:00 PM

Crawl wraps. Stay out or head back. Your call.

Pair it with a food truck dinner for the full Austin night out.

We know the food truck owners personally. We can set up a dinner at a trailer park nearby and roll straight into the music from there.
